South Texas Family Connections (STFC) is a counseling service located in Corpus Christi, Texas. Opened in 2006 by Founder and Director, Lupe Valdez Ph.D., Licensed Professional Counselor, STFC strives to assist individuals and families to develop, maintain, and enhance family cohesiveness through educational and counseling programs.
These programs are offered to individuals and families covering life skills, topics like effective parenting, anger management, problem solving, strengthening your marriage, divorce recovery, blended families, and how to handle bullying. These workshops, seminars, weekend retreats, and small classes are available in various locations throughout the Coastal Bend.
Meet Dr. Valdez
Licensed Professional Counselor
Lupe Flores Valdez is the Director of South Texas Family Connections. She received her Doctorate in Marriage & Family Counseling at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio.
South Texas Family Connections offers a series of educational seminars and workshops for "at-risk" families in the Coastal Bend.
Partners who have utilized services include: Department of Criminal Justice Weed and See Program, Corpus Christi Independent School District, Spaulding for Children Adoption Agency of South Texas, other non-profit, for-profit, and governmental agencies.

Dr. Valdez's clinical experience includes providing educational workshops and counseling services to military families, adjudicated youths and their families, pre-marital and martial couples, adoptive families, and other at-risk families.
Dr. Valdez hopes to continue to facilitate educational groups, provide therapy services, and raise public awareness for minority and underserved populations dealing with mental heath, substance abuse, and other related issues.

​STFC is committed to strengthening and improving family wellness and cohesion through therapy, education, other supportive services, and advocacy. We offer counseling services for individuals, children, teens, couples, and families. We also offer educational programs geared to assist parents, couples, children, and teens by facilitating topics covering life skills necessary for personal growth. STFC is a HUB Program for the State of Texas through the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts (CPA) which administers the participation in state agency procurement opportunities.
